The lack of well-trained and
experienced cleaner production specialists is one of the important barriers
to implementation of cleaner production in Vietnamese industry. Hence,
one of the key activities of the centre is to build up, through training,
a human resource base (national experts) on cleaner production.
At first, the Viet Nam Cleaner
Production Centre has introduced a seven-module training programme for
trainers in cleaner production (from May 1999 to August 2000) with the
total 53 days (23 days of classroom and 30 days of practical works in
company). Thenceforth, the intensive training programme has been modified
so as to get really apt to the requirements of participants. The programme is now consisting of 4 modules and is more
focused on the specific needs of the target sectors. The training activities
are also combined with the in-plant demonstration activities, so practical
experience and class room input will always go hand in hand. The total
duration of this training was 15 days of classroom training and between
11 to 15 days of practical work in companies. The program is designed
as illustrated in table below. By doing this, knowledge and experiences
from qualified experts will be transferred to participants more effectively
and practically. Results from our training program is vividly reflected
from the results brought about by Implementing CP in our participant's
working places.
