Switzerland to contribute US$ 2.3 million for cleaner production

Hanoi, 15 December 2004, 14h00. The Swiss Ambassadon behalf of the Swiss State Secretariat of Economic Affairs (seco) signed today an agreement with the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) launching a US$ 2.3 million project on Promotion of Cleaner Production Services in Viet Nam through the Viet Nam Cleaner Production Centre (VNCPC) to be executed by UNIDO in cooperation with the Institute for Environmental Science and Technology at the Hanoi University of Technology, Ministry of Education and Training. |

Two Ministries join hands to support the Second National Roundtable on Cleaner Production

On 12 an 13 November 2004, the Second National Roundtable on Cleaner Production took place in Ho Chi Minh city. The roundtable was organized by the Viet Nam Cleaner Production Centre (VNCPC), the Viet Nam Canada Environment Program (VCEP) and the Seafood Export and Quality Improvement Project (SEAQIP) under the auspices of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Industry. This was the first time in Viet Nam that the two Ministries joined hands to promote this field. |
