Objectives
This consultancy package is part of the project “Scaling up Eco-Industrial Park Approaches to Promote Circular Economy in Vietnam”, under the framework of the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP II) initiated by UNIDO.
In Vietnam, the project is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Finance and UNIDO during the 2025 – 2028 period, aiming to support industrial parks in transitioning toward eco-industrial park models and sustainable development.
Project activities aim to support the transition and replication of eco-industrial park models in Vietnam, thereby improving resource efficiency, reducing waste and greenhouse gas emissions, promoting industrial symbiosis, and applying circular economy solutions.
Activities
Main activities:
- Conducting field surveys, collecting and analyzing data to comprehensively assess the current status of Tang Loong Industrial Park; identifying gaps compared to eco-industrial park criteria and recognizing opportunities and transition potential aligned with the industrial characteristics of the park;
- Studying and proposing transition solutions, including improving land-use planning and structure; enhancing RECP implementation; developing industrial symbiosis and industrial–urban symbiosis models; and developing monitoring tools, management mechanisms, and coordination arrangements to ensure the sustainable maintenance and development of the eco-industrial park model, systematically structured as a formal project proposal;
- Organizing consultations and workshops to collect stakeholder feedback; finalizing and handing over the project proposal for appraisal, approval, and implementation.
Implementation results:
The project proposal report was completed and officially accepted, covering the following key contents:
- Overview of Tang Loong Industrial Park and issues related to the establishment and development of an eco-industrial park;
- Overview of the eco-industrial park model;
- Proposed land-use structure to meet eco-industrial park development criteria;
- Proposed solutions for efficient resource use and cleaner production application;
